Before you begin

Open the private box link supplied by the organization. You do not need an UnspokenBox account. Check the box title and description so you know what the organization is asking for.

Write your message

1. Enter the concern, idea, question, or suggestion in Your message.
2. Be specific enough for the organization to understand and act, but omit names or details that could identify you if you want to remain anonymous.
3. The counter shows how much of the 10,000-character allowance you have used.

This is the only standard field that is always required.

Name and email fields

Name

The administrator may hide it, make it optional, or require it. If optional, leave it blank to avoid attaching a name to the submission.

Email

The administrator may hide it, make it optional, or require it. It gives the organization a conventional way to contact you, but it is different from anonymous chat.

Passcode and attachment

Passcode

Some boxes require a passcode to limit who can submit. Enter the code supplied by the organization; UnspokenBox does not display or recover it for reporters.

Image attachment

Premium boxes may accept one JPEG, PNG, or WebP image up to 8 MB. Remove identifying metadata or visible personal details before attaching an image when anonymity matters.

Email a copy to the organization

When enabled, you can send the message to as many as five addresses using the organization’s registered domain.

1. Turn on Email a copy to the organization.
2. Enter only the mailbox part before the fixed domain, such as hr for hr@company.com.
3. Select Add another recipient for another address.

The fixed suffix prevents copies from being sent outside the registered company domain. This does not verify that an individual mailbox exists or that its owner is specially approved.

Request an anonymous reply

Premium boxes may offer I expect a reply and am willing to chat anonymously. Turning it on clears and hides the name, email, and message-copy options.

1. Write and submit your message.
2. Save both the private link and generated password shown after submission.
3. Open the link, enter the password, and exchange messages with the administrator.

The password cannot be recovered. The conversation expires after 30 days without activity; each new message extends access by another 30 days.

Send and confirm

Select Send securely once. The button becomes disabled and shows a rotating indicator while the request is processing. Correct any field-specific error, then submit again.

After success, the page confirms delivery. Message content is encrypted by the application before database storage, and raw IP addresses are not attached to submissions.
